Did you know my art prints are matted to 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀?

It means you can easily purchase frames off the shelf, pop the matted print straight in without fiddling with tape, and not have to take prints to a framer (which you can still do too, of course!). 🖼️

𝗠𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲: 𝟲𝘅𝟴" | 𝟴𝘅𝟭𝟬" | 𝟭𝟭𝘅𝟭𝟰" | 𝟭𝟲𝘅𝟮𝟬".

These are all standard photo frame sizes, and are what I'm used to working with from my portrait photography days. You can find these size frames pretty much anywhere frames are sold. 🙌

Having said all that, I am considering selling unmatted prints in A5, A4, A3 and A2 sizes. These sizes are still easy to find frames for, and are the sizes you probably see more often for art prints.

I still strongly recommend always matting prints when framing to stop the print touching the acrylic/glass.

It took ages to finish my last painting of this pretty pink galah. Not in the actual painting time, but I worked on it very sporadically for short periods of time, which meant it took a couple months to finish. 🗓️ Plus every time I thought about working on it, I'd make excuses not to. 😆

I don't particularly like working like that, I much prefer to get totally absorbed and spend big chunks of time on it over a few days to a week, but... life! 🤷‍♀️

I recorded snippets as I worked, would you like to see more time lapse videos like this?

𝕃𝕒𝕤𝕥 𝕥𝕨𝕠 𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕜𝕖𝕥𝕤 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟜🎄🎁

This time last year I booked myself into way too many Christmas markets, burnt out, and vowed I wouldn't do it again. 😫

So what did I do again this year? Booked 12 markets in a month. 🤦‍♀️ Which is all well and good, if temperatures weren't hitting 35°C+. 🥵 Some markets are being cancelled this weekend because the forecast is 40° inland. I don't know what drugs BOM staffers are on lately either, reporting it's 23° in Newy when it's well over 30°, they are getting it wrong more often than right. 🙄

Setting up and packing down in that sort of heat just sucks, and it's HOT by 8am. I miss the earlier set up times on the Mid North Coast where markets start at 8am with setup at 6am. I always bring a change of clothes, wear a cooling gel neckband, drink over 2 litres of water just during the market (more at home before/after), but sweat so much I don't pee for 6 hours. Market stallholder camel bladder is a running joke, but dehydration is the culprit here. I go home utterly exhausted, with a headache, feeling dizzy and depleted.

So for a change I'm putting my health first and taking my foot off the pedal earlier, I'll only be doing two more markets this month:

@emporium_museumparknewcastle on Wednesday 18th and Sunday 22nd December, then that's it for me until February. 👋

Stay cool in this oppressive heat everyone! And if you bravely venture out to a market in the burning sun to support local artisans, truly, we appreciate you. ❤️ We love your puppers too, but please leave them at home in the aircon. 🐕

The thing I struggle with the most when painting is deciding if a piece is finished. 🤷‍♀️ I've worked on this galah very sporadically for MONTHS, and promised a customer I'd do my very best to finish it today so prints would be available for her to buy next weekend. 🤦‍♀️ I made the promise to give myself a massive kick up the bum, but it may have been a tad foolish. 😆

Fellow creatives, the struggle is real! How do you decide when your work is finished? 🤔⁉️
